  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Akon A -- A Compelling Read : I love Toni Morrison’s work. “The Blues Eyes”, “Beloved”, and “Song of Solomon” are but a few of her work that left an indelible impact on me. Ms. Morrison’s way of crafting her stories by weaving in symbolism that were unmistakably “Black” captivated my attention each time I read her work. ‘Toni Morrison’s Spiritual Vision’ by Nadra Nittle unveils how she accomplished this and more importantly why she approached her story telling the way she did. It explains why some of my favorite characters in Morrison’s work may have been crafted the way she did. It was an eye opener and a delight to read this book. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Zoe London -- A very well-researched, beautiful read : I'm a huge Toni Morrison fan. She had a way with words that was completely unparalleled. Her works were full of beauty and symbolism, and this book sheds great light on how and why. It goes into Morrison's religious upbringing and how her faith shaped her work. It explains so much about the memorable characters she created and the deep African American traditions that derived from African ancestors. Morrison fans will love this, as it gives insight into the way she deftly included spirituality (sometimes in subtle ways, other times in very obvious ways) in her books.
